Our Partnership with Days for Girls
Breakdown of a Days for Girls MHM Kit (above).
WHISCA has partnered with Days for Girls to support the ongoing creation of Days for Girls Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) Kits. These feminine hygiene kits are life-changing for girls in communities like Lugari.
This partnership supplies our program with quality materials that ensure we produce reusable kits with minimal waste.
Training Women in Sewing
WHISCA’s Women’s Micro-Enterprise project empowers women tailors to develop their skills through workshops on creating and selling reusable menstrual product kits.
This model grants women economic opportunities while providing sustainable menstrual hygienic solutions for communities.
Kits made in the program go directly to young women across Kenya.
Empowering women and ending stigma around menstruation
Teach women how to sew and sell Menstrual Health Management kits
Public workshops on reproductive health and Healthy Bodies
Encouraging open conversations about health
Without proper hygiene supplies, women and girls battle social stigma that keeps them from participating fully in school, work and community life.
Granting Days of Education, Safety and Dignity
Khayanga hands out kits and boxers to local students.
Feminine Hygiene Kits allow girls to overcome the barriers of social stigma.
In 3 years of use, these kits give back up to 6 months of living.
That’s 180 days of education, safety, and dignity.
